Top Tips
If the queues for London Dungeons is very long and you have not pre-booked, don't waste a day - try the London Tombs
Definitely pre-book the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament fast pass as the queues can be very long
Book the River Thames Cruise in as late in the evening as you can, to ensure you witness the city lights
If you are visiting London on yours or a loved-ones birthday make sure you visit Planet Hollywood and tell the staff for a suprise!
To witness the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, get there at 10am to gain a good spot as it occurs at 11am
The guard changing ceremony does not take place everyday, the British Army confirm the dates around the middle of the preceding month - check here
If you are visiting in late-November to the beginning of January make sure you visit Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, it is free to get in but ensure you prebook attractions (especially at the weekend) as it tends to get booked up

Covent Garden, Camden and Oxford Street are the best places for a day of shopping.
The best time to visit London, in my opinion, is Autumn-Spring as when it is hot it can become unbearable and a perfect trip to the city involves a lot of walking.
